The Stress Of Gambling Addiction Can Cause Serious Health Problems

Gambling Addiction and Health Problems

I just read the story about a lady with a severe gambling addiction who found out that she had both severe heart disease and kidney cancer. She was not taking care of herself at all, and was gambling away her life savings. The story is heartbreaking and truly not uncommon.

When you are addicted to gambling, health issues go on the backburner. Failure to visit the physician routinely, and for medical concerns as well put the addicted gambler at risk fo a myriad of serious health problems.

As a matter of fact, when you are addicted to gambling, everything goes on the backburner. To a compulsive gambler, the most important thing in the world is when you can place your next bet, whether it be online or at the casino.

In addition, gambling addiction is a very stressful activity because of the incredible financial and emotional burden it creates.

When you worry about where you will find money to pay your next bill month after month, this stress can become all-consuming and quite powerful.

In addition, when you have a gambling addiction, being maxed out on your credit cards can take an enormous toll on your mental and physical health.

I just think it is important to recognize that the stress of gambling addiction can truly create health problems that may be irreversible.

I truly believe that life is better when you stop gambling

I fully understand the consequences of a gambling addiction. I was sentenced to prison for a crime I committed to support my gambling addiction. I now have more than 18 years of recovery. Today I reach out to help other gamblers who want to stop and have a Newsletter on line: femalegamblers.info and have published a book on how I recovered: grippedbygambling.com

    Sincerely,

    Marilyn
